Raw Milk Law in Arkansas

In Arkansas, raw milk sales are allowed, but there are specific regulations to follow:

  1. Direct-to-Consumer Sales Only: Raw milk can only be sold directly from the farm where it is produced. Retail sales or sales through third-party vendors are not allowed.

  2. Limitations on Quantity: Producers are limited in the amount of raw milk they can sell:

    • Up to 500 gallons of raw cow's milk per month.

    • Up to 100 gallons of raw goat's milk per month.

  3. Labeling Requirements: Producers must clearly label the milk with a warning that it is not pasteurized and may pose health risks.

  4. No Advertising: Raw milk producers cannot advertise their products through public channels like websites, social media, or newspapers. However, word-of-mouth and private communications are allowed.

  5. Testing and Inspection: While inspections aren't required, producers are encouraged to maintain sanitary practices to ensure milk safety.
